FED: Kendell will remain in the air despite Ansett collapse

SYDNEY, Feb 27 AAP - Regional air carrier Kendell Airlines says it will remain airborneeven though the rescue bid for parent company Ansett collapsed today.

Kendell remains under voluntary administration by Andersen but the smaller carriertoday issued a statement saying it would continue to operate independently of Ansett.

Ansett was cut loose by the Tesna syndicate, backed by millionaire businessmen SolomonLew and Lindsay Fox, crushing hopes that thousands of Ansett workers might be assuredtheir jobs.
